Come out on Wednesday, May 11th to see Juno Winner Morgan Davis perform live at the Red Brick Café in downtown Guelph!

Morgan will be playing from 8:30 to 11:00 in the evening at the 8 Douglas Street location of the Red Brick Cafe as part of its ‘Live Music Series.’

For 45 years Morgan Davis has been on the road travelling across Canada, the United States and various countries in Europe. His performances draw from a rich tradition of country blues, as well as his own contemporary songs infused with wit and a large dose of humour. He grew up on a prolific mix of rhythm and blues. The music of blues musician and songwriter Jimmy Reed, R&B ensemble Ike and Tina Turner, the pioneer of rock and roll Chuck Berry, and pianist and singer-songwriter Fats Domino was always playing. In the late 1960s Morgan studied the Delta Blues, as well as the songs of blues singer-songwriter and musician Robert Johnson. Morgan’s album “Painkiller” won an impressive four awards at the 2004 Maple Blues Awards and not long after took home Canada’s top music prize… the Juno for Blues Album of the Year.

There are no tickets available for this musical performance, but a $15 donation is recommended. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Parking is available on the street.

The Red Brick Cafe is a licensed European cafe located on historic Douglas Street. Their specialties include beer, wine, desserts, and a delicious selection of both breakfast and lunch items!
