The Ostic Group with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Fergus

This past June, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our annual coed ball hockey tournament as a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters Centre Wellington. We had a fantastic time hosting the event and are so pleased to announce that we raised $1500. BBBS Wellington wrote a lovely press release about the event, and you can read it below.

Playing Ball Hockey is a lot of fun, but it gets even better when it creates a life changing opportunity for a Little through Big Brothers Big Sisters Centre Wellington. Ostic Insurance Group held a Coed Ball Hockey Tournament at Royal City Ball Hockey in Guelph on June 25th and raised approximately what it takes to fund one child to participate in the One to One match program for an entire year.
“The tournament was a lot of fun and Jim Hitchcock from Ostic and his team did a great job organizing it.”, says Kristen Drexler, Executive Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington. “Luckily, many of us can look back on our lives and identify multiple people that have impacted us in great ways. For some it is a sports coach, a manager at work, a parent, or an older and wiser friend. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we take the luck out of it. We make it our jobs to find mentors for kids who really need someone in their lives to help them navigate the path in front of them. We make sure these kids who are often vulnerable, are in safe and secure matches.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters could not make these impactful connections without the help of the community and would like to thank The Ostic Group for supporting them.
