Curling Bonspiel Fundraiser

On January 17, 2015, members from our Shelburne office participated in a fundraiser bonspiel at the Shelburne Curling Club. The fundraiser was for the Shelburne Wolves Bantam Rep Hockey Team.

Committee members Heather Besley, Joanne Decker & Cheyanne Hancock, decided to take a day away from the hockey rink and try something new. They were able to double their participation from last year’s event from eight teams to 16, and 64 participants in total.

The committee also held a dinner catered by John and Nancy Paulitzki. Bantam Rep Hockey players donated some prizes for the top and bottom two teams. They also held a 50/50 raffle and a raffle for Leafs tickets, which were donated by ISG Transportation Inc on behalf of Cory & Christina Hynes.

Funds raised at the event will aid in the cost of upcoming tournaments, extra ice for practicing and team building.

The fundraising committee would like to give special thanks to Dan Sample, president of the Shelburne Curling Club, and Jamie Horne and Bryan Brown, who assisted with the bonspiel and provided the committee with lots of direction on the day of the fundraiser.
