Graham Wilkin, owner of Ron Wilkin Jewellers, takes great pride in his business and his community, making him nothing short of a local hero. His passion is demonstrated through his dedication for the family business and his desire to be an active member of the Fergus community.

From an early age, Graham always knew that he would be a business leader, just not exactly a jeweller. His father started the company in 1967, so Graham grew up learning about the business and how to interact with customers on a daily basis. After working for his father and receiving his diamond grading certificates, Graham quickly became involved in the business and in his community. This knowledge and experience inevitably led to his smooth transition into ownership of  the business a few years before his father’s retirement.

Graham Wilkin Local Business Owner in Fergus is Community Hero for NovemberFrom 1996, when he started working for his father, until now, Graham has been dedicated to serving the community. For him, the family business is not a 9-5 job. It’s a 24 hour job that requires extra work each and every day in order to stay up to date and prepared for the future. Since taking over the business, Graham has shifted the focus of Ron Wilkin Jewellers towards jewellery and gift-ware suitable for special occasions, making renovations throughout the past 2 years that reflect this new vision.

For Graham, Ron Wilkin Jewellers is not just a successful business. It is a point of pride and a source of happiness. Being a part of some of the most important moments in people’s lives and celebrating special occasions like engagements, weddings, and anniversaries, makes him feel connected with the community and as if his customers are his family. When helping clients with their jewellery decisions he wants to make sure that it is that special item that fits perfectly. Attention to detail and genuine involvement through every step are what make Graham a leader in his industry.

Graham’s leadership does not, however, stop at the business. Following in his father’s footsteps, Graham continues to support various sports teams and services throughout the community. “I find it important to give back to the community that has supported us for a long time, so I think it goes hand in hand,” says Graham.

These values are what inevitably led Graham to want to work with The Ostic Group. Having been connected for quite some time, Graham felt that it was important to work with a local insurance broker and be able to talk to people that he already knew. Since a deep appreciation for family-oriented business and community involvement are among the many values that we embody, Graham Wilkin shines through as our Local Hero for the month of November.
